Axim very unstable

my Amix (acquired last week) has all of a sudden very unstable.
The programs (file explorer) wont show up. IA presentor will
start but will not show any of my presentations, wont let me
pick up the file, will just freeze. opening word will take forever.

Tried soft as well as hard reset twice but no luck so far.

Pl. advise.

You might have a bad Ax, but this kind of problem appears to be rather rare. Before you call Dell and ask for a replacement, you might want to try removing all cards, doing a hard reset, and seeing if the problem persists.

All of the problems you mentioned occur when accessing the file system. Have you copied files without the conversion to PPC format? It sounds like it's choking on long file names or something, but this is a real guess.

No, I did converted them. I have noticed that
problem disappears when the Viking 256 MB CF
is removed (where I had copied initially some of my
presentation files). I have removed them and put
them directly on Axim memory.

I have tried soft as well as hard reset after removing
CF card too. Works fine but the moment I put CF in it,
problem is back.

I have checked through switch bar that no other programs
except ActiveSync are active. When I try to switch off Activesync,
i always get an error that ActiveSync is not responding.
I do not know if this is the error.

On my XP system, I am using Activesync 3.7.

Try another CF card to see if its a problem with the CF port or a problem with that CF card. You might have a bad CF card...
