I was doing a test run on bringing Word documents over to the Axim via the file exchange. That worked fine. But now I'm realizing I'd like these files to reside on the SD storage card instead of on the PPC directly.

Two questions:

1. Is there a way to change a setting so that these files go directly to the SD card?

2. Whether or not there is a way to change that setting, is there any way to transfer ( or copy/paste, etc.) an existing file on the PPC over to the SD card? I did try a few things in File Explorer but it's not working the way I thought it would.

Thanks for any help you can give me!

Okay, I figured out the answer to one of my questions.

I've found that if you've got the particular document open on the Axim, you can click on "tools' and the second-to-the-last choice gives you a tab to "rename/move" and it worked fine doing it that way.

Now, if I can bypass that step altogether and just have it download to the SD card it would make for a lot less work.

why not use File Explorer and just drop them in your SD card, into the folder of your choice? Or is this not the way you want to do it?

Okay, I think you're talking about the File Explorer on the PC not the Axim? Hmmm, let me see if that works.

If you want the files on your sd or cf cards for security, you might just want to do the Data Backup to create copies when you're in the field. This way the originals in My Doc will still get syncd.
