Hitachi 4G Microdrive

I was wondering if Hitachi 4G Microdrive is compatible with the Axim?

It is a compact flash card, but its not compatible with all cameras, from what I read.

Been using the 4G for over a year now without problems. Just make sure you put tape or something on it before you slide it in your Axim to help you pull it back out. Otherwise, you will find it very, very hard to take back out.

Do a search here for 'dental floss' for further info. Me, I just use a pair of those sticky "Note" tags that are sticky on half of one side and say Note on the other (or 'sign here' or any such comments they sell them with). By putting one on each side of the 4G, I have even and complete pull force to easily pull it out.

You can use post-it flags. And you can also trim it at the tip a little to tuck in behind the SD card.

See the Tips from the Trenches link in my sig.

The case color is what counts.

This is what I have read. IF the Hitachi 4G Microdrive comes with all white color on it case it will NOT work. But if it comes with the color of Blue and white on it case it will work just fine.

I had mine for over 6 months now and used it both on my Axim x50v and Axim x51v and it works great.

Do the tape thing as mention in the above post or you will have trouble removing it from you Axim.

Hope this helps you. I also hope that you are getting a good price on it.

Post it flags! That's what they are called. I could not for the life of me remember their name. Next I won't be able to remember my own dog's name.... or even that I have a dog.....

I've got an IBM Microdrive that came from a Fuji camera. It seems too thick to fit in my Axim. Anyway surely microdrives consume lots of battery power?

Yes, Microdrives are slower on small file loads, and eat alot more battery if I am not mistaken.
