Problem Detecting AXIM via USB

Just received my Axim. I installed ActiveSync software and then hooked up the cradle with Axim attached to the USB port. ActiveSync can't detect the mobile device. Help?

Try installing the USB Driver for the Axim...

When you plug your Axim into the cradle your computer will ask you for the drivers. Just point the wizard to the folder you extracted the USB Driver to (c:\dell\drivers\R59395\).

welcome to the world of activesync and it's many problems. try plugging into another USB port. make sure you have the most recent version of activesync (3.7). keep trying!!

when i first got mine, activesync refused to detect my device on some of my USB ports. i have 8 of them.

It suddenly worked! While Active Sync was detecting the device, I turned Axim on while it was on the cradle. Strange but I can sleep better tonight! Thanks to all who responded!

so wait a minute. were you trying to detect the axim when it wasn't even turned on? no wonder it wasn't working. you have to have it turned on for any connection to be established.
