need defrag program

I have looked at all the usual sites and can't find anything like this.

I want a program/app that will allow me to defrag my CF and SD cards from my Axim. I can do my CF card by using the reader that came with it, I just don't like to have to use my pc. I would rather be able to do it on the fly wherever I feel like it.

Try Storage Tools. Website says that is costs $14.95, but there's a download link and I've been using it for a while now with no nag screens to purchase.

Is it necessary to defrag solid state memory?

Nope.....but most of those progs have other utilities built in as well. Like a good formatting tool.

To back this statement up, I will add that WHY it is not necessary.....is because just like RAM, every location of solid state (CF, SD, etc.) memory can be accessed simultaneously.

I'm not arguing with you mostly because I wouldn't know the difference. But why does it seem like there is faster access when it has been defragged? I know it is subjective but I sure do notice a big difference if the card is highly "fragmented"

I think you are being hypersensitive. There is no way a program can load quicker off of solid state media after defraging... Now you might fit more on the card, but it can't load any quicker. Its physically not possible...
