Question How to convert sound files from Psion recorder to Axim compatible format?

I have a sound file which I recorded using my Psion mx5 (well, it's an Ericsson MC218 actually!) and want to be able to access using my Axim x50v. Does anyone know of any software which will enable me to convert the Psion recorder file to a suitable format?

My thanks in anticipation!

It's been a very long time...

But
does Psiwin convert to wav? you could then copy the wav to your axim.

Hmm, the MC218 didn't come with Psiwin, but I think I have a copy somewhere on a shareware disk. Thanks for the suggestion, I'll try that tonight - assuming I manage to leave the office in time!

just checked... and it's still available for download on the psion website.

(didn't the MC218 come with some re-badged version of it?)

And the best thing about Psiwin is that it would also convert files on the desktop. Now if only Activesync could do that

... or do a cable-to-cable conversion. Dirty, but effective.

psionandy, you're a genius!!

So simple - PSIwin does indeed convert to wav and I was able to listen to the file in question, which is something very dear to my heart, on my Axim last night.

It's such a long time since I last used the MC218 for input; in the meantime my study had to be evacuated for the arrival of my son three years ago and much of my computer equipment including the relevant software was hastily squashed into my attic somewhere, so I had resorted to using a download of psiwin without really knowing what it did... And it has made me misty-eyed for the simplicity and user-friendliness of the psion again - the calendar and contacts apps were far more flexible and user-friendly than those built into WinMobile!
