When I go to: Start/CF Card I find some of my files.
In File Explorer when I go to the CF Card - no files!
On poking around in File Explorer I found my files - Windows/Start Menu/CF Card.
The files are not on my CF, I can take it out and still access all the files.

So it looks like "Start/CF Card" is just a Directory/folder.
When I open Word I see a list of the files actually on my CF Card and in "My Documents" but not any of the Docs in "Start/CF Card"???

Not sure how the files got there, I my have moved them there thinking I was moving them to my real CF. I can move them into "My Documents" no problem.

What is the purpose of "Start/CF Card" ?

Nothing. Sounds like somehow you got a directory created that is confusing. If the files are data, not programs, move them to the card and delete the directory. If they are programs, you may need to uninstall and reinstall them so the registry knows where they are.
