Question MyPDA srceen formatting

Hi There !!!

I’m having some problems with the formatting of the MyPDA text. I want to assign text colors and hyperlinks, but as you can see by viewing MyPDA I haven’t succeeded yet. :bang:

I was hoping that I could create an MS-Word document with all desired formatting on my PC, then cut’n’paste into the MyPDA edit screen – but can’t get this to work.

Please note that in the “Edit MyPDA” screen it states that HTML is off. I’m sure this is at least part of the problem, but I can’t find where to enable HTML in the account admin screens.

I have tried all three “Message Editor Interface” settings under Quick Links / Edit Options, but MyPDA screen doesn’t even display basic text formatting options

Hopefully I can avoid creating “HTML code” like suggested by rob1303 in post #15 of this thread – as I’m not a programmer, so it would be a step learning curve.

BTW – The file that rob1303 posted in this thread may help others that do understand HTML code design their MyPDA screens. Here it is - MyPDAcoding.txt

Best Regards,

OzeCam.

Try creating it in a "new thread" then copying the text (with codes) over.

Hi Gigi,

Thanks for your help!!! I tried what you suggested, and it half works. After creating a new thread, I cut'n'paste the formatted text from a MS-Word doc into the thread compiling window - this worked fine with all text formatting preserved.

I then selected all text in the "new thread" window using Ctrl-A / Ctrl-C keystokes, opened a new browser window and went to MyPDA, then pasted the text into the MyPDA edit screen using Ctrl-V. At this point the text formatting was lost. I saved the result and crossed checked the contents of MyPDA by clicking on the MyPDA link from one of my postings. Unfortuately only plain text was displayed.

In the Edit MyPDA window, "HTML = off" is still being displayed. Is this the cause of my problem?

Regards,

OzeCam.

Don't create in WORD, just create directly in the new thread using the functions available. The formatting in WORD is different from what is used in the forums and won't transfer.

I have tried Gigi's suggestion, but unfortunately the formatted text (color, hyperlink, etc.) in the "new threat" creation screen isn't retained when the text is copyandpaste to the "Edit My PDA" screen. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

Osecam.

PS - sorry about the delayed reply, I have been travelling without Internet access.

Try Copy and Paste from the edit screen... make sure you are copying over the tags themselves, not the text which has been tagged, i.e. if you want to make a word bold, you don't copy over the bold word as it appears on the forum, but with the tags intact like this:
[ b]This should appear in bold, if you remove the space before the b [/ b]

not the already-bolded text like this:
This appears in bold, but doesn't copy the tags over.

capiche?
