Aximsitex50icon How To Reset Local Connection Back To 1?

Hello, was just wondering, now that I finally learned to sync my Axim. I have an Axim x50v and WM5 w/ ActiveSync 4.1. I need to know since it took me 29 tries to get it right, how to reset my local connection back to 1. It now says local connection 29. I can rename the connection no problem, but how do you reset it back to 1?

You could delete the connection, reinstall AS, and start over (and do it right :))

Thank you, but I have done that 29 times! If I do it again the connection will come up 30.

You mean reinstall completely? You've done that 29 times?

Disconnect your Axim.
Open up a command window.
type set devmgr_show_nonpresent_devices=1
type devmgmt.msc
In Device Manager chose "Show Hidden Devices"
Delete (uninstall) all the Windows Mobile Based Devices items
reboot

This will clear all the old Axim entries
When you reconnect, it will start numbering "Windows Mobile Based Device" number.
Go into Network Connections, right-click on the connection to the Axim and rename it.
