Axim newbie seeking advice!!!

Hi ALL!!!

I will be getting my Axim advanced today! Rejoice!!!!

hmrph... Ok but i need help getting started with these questions which i appreciate ur valuable feedback and advice:

1. I got this axim at the PCShow 2003 here in Singapore over the weekend and the brochure was saying the processor is a PXA255 400mhz one. from what i know it has always been a PXA250 processor. Is there a way to check if it is true? seems that it is not shown in the sys info.

2. I heard lots of people complaining about Activesync and it scared me to death! I hope to start right so are there tips on getting started? I have downloaded version 3.7 and also the latest A03 rom update. what should i do next?

I hope the replies to this thread can help many of the newbies there as well! So all Axim veterans pls contribute!!!

Many thanks!

When you install the latest ROM update, you'll get the correct answer. Older ROMs didn't know what a 255 was...

OK the latest AS should help, but you never know. AS is the worst part of Pocket PCs... As for the A03 ROM update, you can follow the Aximsite.com A03 ROM update Tutorial. That should answer all your questions.[/B][/QUOTE]

If you are going to the sys info by using Start/Settings/System/Sys Info, then it doesn't tell you which processor you have. You need to open File Explorer and go to My Device/My Documents/SysInfo then open the SysInfo file that is in that folder. That will tell you which CPU you have.

Right, but unless you have A02 or later, you won't get it to say 255, it will say 250 C1 or something to that extent...
