I don't think you made a mistake. All Axims are worth it. You saved yourself some money that you can use to buy even more memory than the 400mhz one has. Plus, the 400mhz Axims are not noticeably faster than the 300mhz Axims.

I agree that the 300 would be sufficent, however I just bought a 400 unit from www.compgeeks.com because it was only $185, so I decided to replace my 300. However, the 300 has been more than sufficent for my needs, but I have to know that I have the best.

I bought the 300 due to budget limitations. I've loaded almost 30 trial apps on it, most but not all on a SD card (just selected the ones I'm going to keep and register.) I can run a lot of those at the same time to compare them side by side, up to 10 or more, and the Axim runs just fine. I don't seem any limitation to the 32meg of RAM.

Hey smeg36...you said you bought an Axim from that compgeeks.com site. Well I don't see any Axim's for sale there. In fact, the only place I have found them is the actual dell site. Where did you see the Axim on the compgeeks site? Thank you.

ohhhhhh the rock falls of the heart....hehehehe
good btw the compgeeks.com awesome site
the only issue i see with mine is that not all of the apps can be installed on storage cards
example adobe acrobat reader....what a bear!!!!!!!!!!!
i duno if this is not due to how dell names their storage cards in the folder hierarchy...........
any ideas
thnx

Hmm

Crazy. I typed in Dell Axim earlier and didn't get any dell related products. I must of did a typo in all of my excitement. Well I guess I'll wait and see, even though Dell's special ends today.

Yeah, Compgeeks are out of stock right now, but they seem to be getting a lot in right now, so check back multiple times a day. I also got a spare battery from them for $28, and a 300 Axim for my brother, which works like a dream. I love Compgeeks!

Coolness. $200 for a Axim advanced model, wow that is sooo cheap. How do they pull that off with dell selling em for $300? Sounds crazy, heh.

They are refurb models, and they don't come with the dummy CF and SD cards, or the cradle. But I have all these from my 300, so no big lose. I am still AMAZED at the cost though. Consider how much a iPaq with comparable specs would cost, even refurb.

From what we have read you should also be okay when PPC2003 comes out since it appears it will only require 32MB.

Yeah, if Dell releases 2003 for the Axim. They haven't made any announcements yet, have they? Also, on the basic, you probably won't have any Built In Storage after upgrading to 2003 though. I never really used it in my Basic though.

You sure? I mean I have never bought a refurbished PDA so I wouldn't know. You said it is lacking the cradle though? What else? Warranty? etc?
