Hi, I have had my refurb Axim for a few weeks now and have some questions, that I hope some of you old hands can help with.

1. A06 > A12

a/. If I do this and it fails, can I revert to A06?

b/. I don't have a cradle, only a USB connection, is this safe to use to do the upgrade?

c/. I can currently use my Bluetooth Headphones, but have been unable to ActiveSync thro' BT, will upgrade help me achieve this?



2. Backups

As I have almost filled my 1GB SD card, I want to use a new 2GB SD card. I guess I cannot just copy everything on the smaller card to the larger one via my PC using ActiveSync! So.........................

a/. I have used a recommended Backup program, but the backup file is only about 10mb in size, presumably it has only saved data and registry entries. Would I then have to re-install every program again?

b/. Should I format my new 2GB SD card first, if so what is the best way to do this and which file type (FAT16 or FAT32). The card would be used for games and apps mainly?

c/. Does anyone know a quick way that I can get a list of the programs that I have installed on the Axim?



3. SD/CF card issue

a/. Very often, when using ActiveSync 4.*, I am unable to navigate to 2nd level folders on either of my installed cards. Is this a bug?
Although I have looked around this site, I cannot see that anyone else has mentioned this issue.

The cradle has a usb connection to the computer. The cradle holds and charges the unit besides being the connection to the computer. I would think a straight usb connection would give you the same for syncing. I am not sure if you can go back to A06.
If you have only data on your SD cards then you can use a card reader and transfer the data from one card to the other using your computer without using AS. You can create folders on your computer and move the info into the folders and back to the card. This probably would be faster than moving items thru AS.
