I have the full featured Pocketmusic and being the brainiac I am I thought it would be cool to install it onto both CF cards that I use for music and not have it in the Axim's main memory. I then found it even "cooler" to use my Launcher program and have a shortcut to it.
I was doing some testing of headphones today and switching cards, switching back and forth between Word, Excel, and Inbox as well as PM. At some point I shut off the axim and upon turn on got this...
In blue box with an OK button.
"Notification Error"
In white box below.
"Cannot execute\CF
card\pocketmind
pocketmusic\pocketmusic.
exe"
You have to tap the OK twice to get it to go away.
Here's what I have done and nothing has remedied the problem yet. 1) I soft reset, same problem 2) I switched back to card most used, same problem 3) I decided that once resolved PM is in main memory so I removed from both cards and did removal on Axim using remove programs, then went to file explorer and clean everything else left., same problem 4) soft reset, same problem
Okay I have been messing with thing for another couple of hours and found one other place that I deleted. I can't find any reason why this thing keeps giving me this message.
I re-instaled PM onto the CF card and it still gave me this error. I removed it and still have this error.
Can't wait to get to work on Monday and dump this stupid thing!!!!
Well I did the hard reset, first one for me.
I guess the fear is over now. I hope everyone else learns not to do stupid things like I did.
Anyway now that this useless thread is over would someone PLEASE delete it!!!!!!
Look I don't want to be pushy (okay maybe I do after all I am nicknamed bulldog) but in an effort to save precious server space I would be glad to have you delete such a useless thread. I didn't fix the problem, don't know how to fix the problem and still have some after completly losing all data on hard resets. I know you guys are busy but ones like mine certainly do nothing but take up space.
Just a thought :):D
Sorry, Bulldog. I wish I could help but I don't know the solution to your problem despite your endless efforts of trying. I just never encounted such a problem and usually someone would know what to do aside from the dreded hard reset.

I think the thread is more about angst and frustration. I am sure that if someone knew the answer or had suggestions I would have heard. Lately I have managed to screw things so badly that no one on the site seems to have answers. With the tech guys at our work it is useless to even call them. I bought the axim my self and am using it for work amongst my playing with it and it would completely screw up the techno geeks that I was doing something like this without authorization.
What's a man to do????
Although this discussion seems to be long over, since I experienced similar frustration, and eventually solved it, I thought I'd share the info.
Every time I turned on my pocket pc, I received a "notification error" that there was a problem with pocketmusic. Deleting the programs, using utilities, etc wouldn't help.
Google searches gave opinions that the only thing that could help was a remover.exe from a mysterious SK (who is in the process of writing SKTools). I finally tracked down that file and installed it, but alas, it also didn't help.
The only thing that helped was: http://www.phm.lu/Products/PocketPC/PowerToys/
To quote them:
<PHM Scheduled Tasks PowerToy
Control panel applet that gets displayed on the "System" tab of the "Settings" screen. Enable you to list and delete scheduled tasks (notifications).
This can be used to fix the Notification Error "Cannot execute [some application]".>
wow a hard reset was verii stupid in the windows folder theres a folder called "startup" just like the startup folder in desktop windows it was prolly in there or the launcher u loaded kept loading it
