Some specific Palm 4.x to x51v questions

I am anticipating getting my new x51v at work this week. Our IT guys are nice and all, but they aren't as familiar with PDAs, and they don't read Aximsite! I have been running a Clie SJ33 with Palm 4.x, and I've particularly used 2 PDA programs daily at work: Datebook 4.0 and HanDBase 3.5. I sync with Outlook on the work network (NT-based with Exchange). I've got numerous offline folders set up in Outlook on the laptop. My setup is a laptop (HP Pav ze2000) that I use at work (one profile in XP Pro) and at home on a wireless network (a 2nd profile in XP Pro in a Windows workgroup). I sync regularly at work to update info, but do my surfing (and WM5 program shopping!) at home. I rarely sync at home, but with installing Axim app's, that will be different for a while. Will this confuse things? Should I change to my work profile in XP for the installations? Will my Axim be "happy" on the home wireless net (linksys WRT54G router)?

I know that Datebook will not translate over to WM5. (I've been reading about alternatives here.) A specific question that I have is what will happen to the notes on appointments? Some appt's have notes, and others carry a brief note that has the font/color coding where I've used a different Datebook font. Will this be "lost" in the translation (not a problem, I guess), or might this even mess up the default Calendar app somehow?

I'm sure I'll have other questions later!

The DateBK fonts and colurs will not translate over (grief I miss DateBK). I also use a linksys WRT54G router without problem. As forthe rest, it's for someone else.

I also switched to an Axim X51 due to work. 2 things you must do first

1. Do the server fix talked about in this forum. Do this before loading any software because your Dell will continue to lock up on you.
2. Turn off error reporting which is also talked about in this forum.

I also used HanDbase on my Palm. They gave me a discount for buying the pocket pc version since I was a previous user. The programs are basically the same,but,but,but when you are done with the program you have to select File,Exit inside the program or your data will not be synced between PC and Dell Axim. I found this on HanDBase website. Do not use the upper right X to close.
Lastly, read this forum or search for things that you want to know about or are causing you problems. Do not expect any help from Dell. If it was not for this website I would have returned my Dell shortly after receiveing it.
