HAPPY HOLIDAYS...I am very new to the PDA thing, and want to download a few things, i have read that if the downloads are in a zip format that I need to unzip them. How do I do this? what do I need? and are they free?? I would love any info you have that would help me be able to download things....Thanks

If you download something that has been zipped, you will get a WinZip box. At the bottom of the box, click on "I agree" and it will open to the files in the program you have downloaded. Then you either have to double click on what you want to open or drag it to your file explorer. Clear as mud, right?

Just to clarify though. Not everyone has "winzip" :-)
Any internet user should already be familiar with a zip utility. If you don't have one, you should get one. There are several free ones out there that work great like ZipGenius that I use. Or you can pay for one like Winzip that is very popular.

There are also zip tools for the PPC but I as yet haven't seen a need for one there, but then again I haven't really used my PPC on-line.

I usually choose save when downloading a zip file and then when its done I click the open button. It launches my zip utility. I can then either install directly from there or unzip to another directory before transferring to the PPC.
