How do I record with the 51v?

External Mic?
I guess I didn't go into enough detail...
my fault.
Is it possible to record with an external mic?

The headphone jack supposedly can also be used as a microphone jack. See this page for more information, including a way to use the jack for both microphone and headphone at the same time:
