Question Can't remove program, help?

Trying to remove a program that downloaded when I D/L other free programs the other day.

Can't remove in Remove Programs, it says it's running or is readme file. I deleted all traces of it on the desktop PC hoping sync would remove it, no luck.

HandyMasters handyShortcuts, it put icons and a wrong date on my Today screen. How do I get rid of it?

thanks,

Bette

Try soft reseting the axim then try uninstalling it. If that dont work then try to uninstall it with your desktop by going to activsync tool / add remove programs.

soft reset your axim and then tap start >> settings >> system >> remove programs and remove the program from there. then soft reset the axim again and see how it goes.

Mad

Thanks, I hadn't thought of using the remove programs in Active sync but that didn't work. It was there with box checked and grayed out. I highlighted it anyway and clicked remove. It disappeared but he round time thingy never stopped going arouns. Did soft reset. it was back, listed and grayed out. I've removed it everywhere and done numerous soft resets. Only things that I can think of to try now are to see if I can contact creator, page not found was what I got earlier, maybe there is uninstaller program for PPC's that would clean it up? can anyone recommend one? It's a .dll file that won't go away, I don't know what kind that is.

thanks,

Bette

Hmmmm. . . I've never had this problem as a soft reset usually works for me, so I don't have any experience with Uninstall programs. I did a search though and found a program called Uninstall Ability which is freeware that you might want to try. Just in case, though, have you tried to reinstall the program and then try to uninstall again?
If that doesn't work, you might want to try DeInstaller which is available through Handango for $8.

I had that problem with a program a while back and after much trouble I opened the readme file and it said to rename the file and then delete it. You will need to do a soft reset to make sure it isn't running then rename and delete.
That's if none of the other suggestions have worked.
Good Luck
