How do I load png images as wallpapers?

Hello,
I would like to set as wallpaper an image.png. I go to settings->today but when i examine for pictures only jpg appears.

i dont think it is possible.

personally, i would just use the GIMP to convert it to JPEG using no compression

i found that png images can work as backgrounds for programs like wisbar advance but not for today configuration screen, so i will follow your suggestion to convert to jpeg.

I found it, it can be done by using the default image viewer in which png images can be loaded. After opening it you can set as wallpaper.
