I received my Axim for Christmas and really love it. I'm coming from a Visor Deluxe and there are a couple of features that it included that I can't figure out how to do on the Axim.

The Palm OS includes a feature called ShortCuts that allow you to insert commonly used words or phrases anywhere by writing just a couple of letters [for example, shortcut character followed by "dts" inserts the current date and time stamp]. I can use the existing shortcuts and also define my own. Does the Pocket PC OS have a similar feature?

The other feature that I miss is Phone Lookup which allows you to find and insert a name and phone number from the address book into an appointment or task.

If anyone can tell me how to accomplish these items on my Axim, I'd appreciate it!

If you are using the typewriter keyboard, click on the arrow next to the keyboard, then Options>Word Completion. It lets you set the way it suggests words when you enter a few characters.

I don't use the letter recognizer at all, but it has the same option. So does Transcriber and the Block recognizer.

I don't know about appointments and phone book, sorry.

You might check and see if Agenda Fusion does what you want with the links to contacts.
