Wakeup to Alarms and appointments?

Hi there, i'm a little new to the PDA scene but have fallen in lov with what the axim can do. I thought I would try to use it for serious stuff such as making notes on as well as organising my appointments , i.e use my PDA as an organiser, who would have thought!!! lol. Anyways. I wanted to know how people were setting their appointments up on their axim? I thought it would be nice for it to wake up at a certain time with an alarm to remind me of anything. I tried to test it with msn calendar but it seems to need the axim to be on constantly to be able to alert me of appointments. Is this what everyone else does? I.e have the axim on constantly but the screen off or something? Or is there a neat program which turns it on when I've asked it to and display my appointment to remind me?

Sorry id its basic question, have tried to look at the threads but couldnt find the answer. most answer the question of the alarms themselves but I am wondering how people use their calenders and orgainsers to remind them of things.

Thanks for the help.

If you set the appointments in the calendar application with a reminder, the Axim will switch on and remind you.

Hmmm, i tried that and it didnt wake up :( is there a setting that i need to enable elsewhere to ensure it can wake me up and remind me? Eg do i have to have the calender on my today page or something or have it open when the axim is turned off?

Here is what I did to get the system to start reminding me again. I downloaded a program called memory maid (memmaid). Within it is a function to see everything that is in your notification queue. Check for duplicates and erase them, this is a function of MemMaid. Then try to set a new appointment via the calendar and make sure the time is good. Also make sure the sound is up high enough so you can hear it.

Great! I tried memmaid and cleaned up the duplicates. It works fine now. Great feature! Thanks Jogga and Malkavian :)

May I add my vote for SKtools. It may not be the freindliest GUI but once a person spends 15 min exploring, the SKTools app offers an incredible depth of optimizing. Deleting duplicate notifications is critical for happy co-existance of man and Axim. Both do well on that point. SKTools will do it (and tons more) for 11.00.

I'd like to throw in my vote for SKtools as well. I've been a MemMaid user for quite a while, and just recently checked out SKTools.

Simply amazing!
