Does anyone else have a problem active synching with their dell docking station? I have an inspiron 8000 laptop and it's dock.

I can active synch through the USB directly on my laptop, but trying USB on the dock does not work.

Anyone have any thoughts?

My mouse works on the docking USB port and so does my digital camera.

Do you have a firewall running? Sometimes mine gives me problems allowing my axim to sync.

Well hello again. I talked to Dell handheld support today.

Apparently there is a known bug, and most cradle and travel synch cables will not run with a port replicator or docking station. I find that curious, but he said it has something to do with the power. He suggested trying a powered USB hub plugged into the port replicator.

Luckily I can use the travel synch cable with the port replicator and for some reason it works. The cradle does not. Both however, work when plugged directly into the USB ports on my laptop.

Gotta love when your Dells will not talk to each other.

On a lighter note, I did get a free copy of Pocket PC 2003 mailed to me for my troubles. :)

Okay, me again. If anyone is following this thread...

Tried synching through a USB hub (non-powered) and it works.

Strange that Dell Axim cannot talk trhough a Dell docking station without an interpretor!
