In the network settings - Start, Settings, Connections (tab), Connections, Advanced (tab), Select Networks and select "My Work Network" from both of the pull down lists. If you then tap the Edit... button under either list and the Proxy Settings (tab), the top box (This network connects to the Internet) should be checked but leave everything else on this page blank. After tapping OK, make sure both dropdown lists are still set to My Work Network and OK your way back to the Today page and then soft reset.
Alternatively, you may try using 'The Internet' from the drop downs but just make sure both are set the same.

I cannot browse Internet
Hi!
I tried what you said and it's still the same thing. I have selected "My Work" in both list and under the "Proxy" tab and the "This Network Connect To Internet" box is checked. It's weird, i can get my email but not browsing the Internet. I have also tried with "Internet" in both droplist and still the same. Cannot browse the Internet. I read the "Wireless Guide" from this site many many times and no good news. I've installed the "Oddysey Client" and disconnect too when i start to browse. Reseted my acces point and my router too. Both is on factory settings. My 2 laptop can connect and browse Internet. I'm confused.
If someone have an idea, please let me say. :)
Thanks ! Chuck.

Unfortunately, I don't think the WiFi Guide has any advice for this problem. I assumed the drop down lists were set differently causing IE to attempt to use a different type of connection but I cannot remember ever hearing of this particular problem before so I'm sure I haven't addressed it in the Guide.

When I enter this address for gateway, if i try to browse, i lost the connection. If I put another gateway instead of 192.168.01, the conection don't drop but i have the mesage "This page cannot be displayed". Weird I will try to configure my telecom again ! If you find something interresthing let me say. Thanks for your reply's !!

192.168.01 is not a valid IP address so it's no wonder you get the "This page cannot be displayed" error.

I also misread what you said. I thought 192.168.01 was the alternative address you were entering but if the 'something else' you enter is not a valid Gateway, that still explains the error message.
I'm not sure why you disconnect when it has the correct IP but I'm now suspecting it has to do with a router setting and not something on the Axim.

Hi !
My router address is 192.168.0.1 255.255.255.0
My Acess Point address is 192.168.0.50 255.255.255.0 GW 192.168.0.1
My Axim address is 192.168.0.55 255.255.255.0 GW 192.168.0.1 DNS 192.168.0.3
I have downloaded a ping utility. I can ping my router, my access point, another pc, my server and a web site ! But i cannot browse it ! I can get my mail ! But not browsing Internet. I use the latest driver for the SDIO Card, latest firmware for both router and access point and the A03 FR rom for the Axim X3. I have also changed to the A02 EN by i got the same issue. I'm back with my A03 FR rom. Like i just said, i can ping everything on my network but i cannot browse.
The only way i can go on Internet with my Axim, it's with the sync cable...
If anyone have an idea...
Chuck. :)

The DNS doesn't seem right. Normally it would be the same as your router's IP. Do an ipconfig/all check in DOS on one of your PCs to see what they use as a DNS.

Hi !
My network is under a domain. I have a DNS server for my domain. All my wireless laptop can browse Internet since 2 years with the same config. I have tried to change the DNS address for the same as the router gateway and still not working. Address's of my PC's is delivered by a DHCP server that i manage. I will investigate what's wrong with my DNS or DHCP servers... By the way, i can't get an ip via DHCP from my server or the router directly connected to Internet. So i have to put a static address. I will also review steps by steps from the start.
Thanks for your reply's ! I so happy that someone can help me with this issue !
Chuck. :)

Question
Hi !
When i tap on my detected wireless network, i chose "Work" and under the dropdown list, you have "This is a "ad-hoc" connexion". Is it normal ? When i try to crate a new one, it always show this message even if i leaved the box unchecked. (This is a "ad-hoc" connexion). I'm still investigating on my network. :)
Chuck.

No, with an access point, you should have an infrastructure connection. In my experience, using a static IP often leads to problems and the need to use one is an indication that something isn't set right.
I assume the router is set as a DHCP server.
I think I would try re-creating the connection. First turn off/unplug the AP (this is necessary because you cannot remove the old settings when the connection is available). Then, on the page reached to from the Setting button in the WLAN (when WiFi is active), hold the stylus on the name of your network and select Remove Settings. OK your way back to the Today page and soft reset. Then turn the AP back on (note: the AP should be set to broadcast the SSID) and turn on WiFi on the Axim. It should find the AP signal and ask if you want to connect. Say yes and that it is a 'Work' connection. It should get an IP and all the rest of the associated settings and allow you access to the Web and email.
