Is there any way to retrieve a 'completed' (and now I know deleted) task? is there a recycle bin or a workaround for this?

Thanks,
Donna

If you're using Outlook you should be able to still see it under Tasks. It will have a check mark next to it that its complete but you should be able to uncheck it or just open it and toggle its status from complete to whatever you want...

It was only on the Axim... something I was doing on the fly this morning and I accidentally hit the check mark on it before shutting it off. It was gone when I powered back up. :(

Tasks are stored in the "Task Items" database on the Axim and I do not know of any way to access that database externally. It doesn't sync over to the desktop and you can not copy and paste it over either.

I also found that when you create a task, the record count in that database increments. Then when you delete a task, it decrements. That indicates to me that the database entry truly is gone.

If you sync with Outlook, anything you've deleted will be in the 'deleted item' folder -- u can then use that to undelete.

Cheers.

It appears that a deleted task will only appear in the "deleted items" folder on your desktop PC if you synced prior to deleting the item. In other words, if you entered the task on the Axim and synced, then deleted the task on the Axim and synced again, it would be there on the desktop PC and you could undelete it. If you create the task on the Axim and then delete it prior to syncing, it will not appear in the "deleted items" folder on the desktop PC after you sync. It also does not show up in the "deleted items" on the Axim either.

Look on the Axim under Tasks, it should be there, with the check mark as Forge described. Even if it was only on the Ax, it should be there.

Yes, it should be there as I have just checked off another task and shut down the Axim and on startup that one is still there (in the completed folder). The original task, for which I started this topic for, is still gone.

I have no clue now, except that I will make my notes in Word from now on and forget the notes section in the task section. <_<

Thanks for trying to help. I've already reconstructed what I lost, and now I know better next time.
