Order status

I ordered my AX basic on Monday June 23. I checked the order status on Dell's website and it showed "Order Processing." A little later that night it's status showed "Pre-Production." A little later the same night, the June 23 date showed up next to "In Production." I have checked it several times a day since and there has been no movement. Is the Order Status screen on Dell's website kept up to date, or will get home this evening and my AX is waiting for me (wishful thinking)?

I placed my order on June26th, by friday night and all weekend it was "in-production". No movement since. I imagine it will go from that to shipped at once with no warning. Then it's just 3-5 days away.

I did call about the 2 week delay when the website says 1-2 days, and the dell dude just said they were equiping the unit with ppc2k3. Sucks to have to wait though. Had the Ax been available at any retail store, I'd have picked it up in person.

Well, at least there's lots of reviews online to read. Anyone know of a picture comparison with a h36xx series iPaq? Seems to me the size is almost identical, with the ax being a fraction of an inch wider and deeper than a naked paq. Not really big as far as I'm concerned.

Yeah guys...in my experience your right...went through the stages of the process at very different speeds...and from my point of view the size thing really isn't an issue (although this is my first proper pda.

And while your waiting at least your got aximsite now...so welcome

I ordered my Axim on the 20th of June and it has been in-production and if I look right now it will still probaly say that. I am due to recieve it July 4th which is probaly not going to happen considering its a holiday. Damn independance!

I have recently recieved my present from Dell....The weird thing is that it said that it was in transit for 2 days after I recieved it....never told me a shipping number or anything....Hmmmmmm

I ordered my AXIM yesterday through the Military exchange system.(I'm retired from the Navy). The deal that I got was the 400mhz AXIM, with a free 64MB SD Memory card and Free Car Charger. This unit isn't coming with a cradle, but rather a USB Travel Sync Cable. I'm expected to receive it on July 14,2003. I paid $295.16. One of the benefits of shopping at the exchange is not paying the tax, and shipping was free. If somebody could find a better deal, I'll cancel this order and get the better deal!

OK get this...I order my AXIM on June 18th. I've check the order status (I have to go through the Australian site) two or three times a day and all I've managed to get is a "does not exist yet" message. Finally this morning (13 days later) I got recognition that my order as least exists.

I've rung DELL and they said that the delay is due to them changing over to MW2003 but at the rate they're going they'll be installing MW2004 on mine.

I am thinking that his Ax probably does not have PPC2k3. News like that would've spread thru the board like wildfire.

I ordered mine on the 26th and got the same "in production" message the same day. It is still stating that. But it says that the ship date is July 14th!!! I have contacted Dell and they just said that it is in backorder. the credited me for shipping since I paid for next day delivery. That is what made me so mad. Why pay for next day delivery if it isnt going to get here until the 14th. Dell custoemr service??? I hope it gets better.

I just checked my order status again. It still says "in-production", but when I check the details, it says that it has shipped! The delivery date now says July 4 - 8 (instead of July 8 - 11). I leave going on vacation on July 7. I hope it gets here before then so that I can play with it on the plane.

It's here! My Axim arrived this afternoon. I am an hour and a half into my 4 hour initial charge. Dell left my cradle out of the order. Guess I'll try to find out who to call.
