Is there a way to move My Documents to my SD Card?

I don't know about HP, but in my Axim, just go into the file explorer and copy and paste the My Documents folder from main memory to the sd card. When done, delete the files out of the main memory My Documents folder, leaving the folder empty.

Your PDA will find all files in My Documents folders, whereever the folder is. I have a MD folder in ROM, and on my SD and CF cards, depending on what I saving (e.g., MP3s in the Music sub-folder on the CF card, Themes in ROM, etc.). Does this help?

Hi jcondon, all this assistance despite the fact that you couldn't bear the "weight" for an ax...hehe

Just think what you could be getting with an ax now!

Seriously I would have been happy with the Dell but since I waited 3 weeks and they again delayed my shipment I broke down and bought the HP 2215 at Bestbuy.

For $100 more I am not going to sweat it since it is a nice unit and I am happy with it.

My friend has a Dell and I think it is a great unit but I like my HP as well.

You may put My Documents folders wherever you like, but ActiveSync will only sync the files in the \My Documents folder.

I think you can change the key HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows CE Services\Partners\Device_code\Services\Synchronization\DeviceSyncFolder to point to the document folder on your SD card. But then the root \My Documents folder won't get syncronized.

I am not sure what you mean by "Your PDA will find all files in My Document folders?" One can use Resco to have duplicately named folders on all the file systems and use them without difficulty so long as the path is correct.

However, \My Documents is not the same as \SD Card\My Documents.

I want to have a \SD Card\My Documents folder that will sync with the PC using ActiveSync 3.7 (or something). Nothing I have tried to-date allows me to do so.

If you have a method for having shared \My Documents folders, please tell me how you did it. I have spent the last 10 hours trying to find something that works ...

I have installed ListPro on the SD. Now I want to have all my lists on the SD (which is also easy enough to do). However, the PC ListPro will only sync with lists in \My Documents since it uses ActiveSync.

ActiveSync will only sync with files in \My Documents and not in \SD Card\My Documents.

Ideas, please??

That really sounded like it might work. I made the registry change to point to \SD Card\My Documents and nothing changed. ActiveSync still syncs with \My Documents rather than \SD Card\My Documents.

Can you think of anything else that might need to be done? Have you been able to get the above change to work successfully?

Thanks.
