Sorting out Ram from storage
Hi Gang,

I've got the Axim Basic with 32Meg Ram, and 32Meg ROM. I'm having troubles telling the difference between the different types of "storage" memory.

In the memory tab theres a slider that has "storage" and "Program" memory, and it can be adjusted. Now, is that "storage" the same thing as the "built in" storage? Or is it something else?

In the file browser there is a Built in Storage item. Is that the same as the built in storage in the memory slider? My question arises because they are different sizes.

Can someone help me clear up what memory is which, and which storage is for storage?

Also, Where do you guys install your programs?

Thanks,
Farmer

I install everything on my SD card. I have found a programs that have to be installed in the main memory, but the vast majority are on the card.

This is the RAM that is being subdivided so some of it is for program storage and some is for use by running programs.

Built-in storage is a separate memory area. It is a leftover piece of ROM that is made available to you for use.
