Dumb question time
Ugh...I hate asking questions like this but it's one of those things that tugs at the back of my mind until I make sure I've got an answer.

Ever since getting my charge/synch cable I've been keeping my Ax connected to my PC at work with a guest connection (primary sync is at home). It's on all the time (albeit the backlight is off) and I usually do the things I need to do on it through Pocket Controller (love that program...highly recommended purchase!!!)

At any rate...here's my question. Do I need to worry about screen burn? I know it's a modern display and everything but the last thing I need is trash it by leaving it on 8 hours a day and having the background burned into it.

Go ahead and laugh--then answer my question.

No need to worry about it.

AxiMonkey,

I don't know the answer for sure, but I would be uncomfortable with leaving the display on all of the time.

I would be interested in knowing if anyone else does this and if there are any long term effects.

BTW, I love the George W. Bush avatar....

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about it. I had a Clie for over a year that was cradled most of the day, everyday, with screen on bright....and it still worked just like new (with no burn-in) when I got my Axim. And I've had the Axim for about 5 months with no problems, also with screen on most of the day.

Ahhhhhh----I see.....it's quite an effort wrapping my mind around that concept but I think I've got it.

Didn't know that my Ax was using an LCD....how do you spell that, by the way?
