Hi,
Even though I know I still had juice in the battery, ny AX wouldn;t power up. Without thinking about it (doh!), I released and immediately reseated the battery and it powered up. Only this time as a virgin new AX!!. After some expletives, I recalled a fairly recent backup with which I've restored most of my data.
2 questions
1) Why did I loose all my data when I did that. Isn't the backup battery supposed to protect for a time when you take the main battery out / switch batteries?. IF not, what does it do?
2) SInce restoring, my AX just will not connect properly with the PC. When you dock the AX, it comes up connected and Active SYnc on the AX says "Connected". At the same time, Active Sync on the PC fires up and starts climbing the blue bar as usual looking for differences, BUT after about 3 seconds, the PC Active says pops up disconnected, and I'm stuffed (the AX does not disconnect). After not getting anywhere, I've eventually reinstalled active sync on the PC (hoping to basically set up from scratch again), but now when getting the initial connection screen, it just doesn't detect the AX at all. I use the standard USB connection in the cradle. Bit of a pig of a scenario I know, but I'd really appreciate it if someone has any ideas, as I'm fresh out now!
Oh yeah, one last thing - SOme kind soul previously pointed me in the direcyion of the fix that enables the 5th button click when you push the main big Dell button on the AX, but I seem to have lost that as well. Where on this great site will I find it again........
Many thanks for any assistance........
Cheers
AJ
