I was wondering if there was a way to network the Axim in such a way so that the Axim would show up on My Network Places in XP? If this is possible, I think I would be a much better way to share files then using the ActiveSync. Anyone have any thoughts?

Well, I might have misunderstood you - but...

Open up "My Computer" or "Windows Explorer" and you'll notice "Mobile Device" - double click on this, and you'll have FULL access to the file structure on your Axim.

If you want to access the root directory, just double-click on "My Pocket PC" and you'll be able to work with files just as if it were another drive.

The only problem is that this method is only one-directional. You cannot, easily (and most certainly without a network card) access networked computers and files on them. I have not, again - without a network card, been able to stream files while my PPC is in its cradle. If, however, you have a WiFi network - there's no problem. Your PPC will register as another computer and you'll be able to access files as such.

With a network connection for the Axim (either wired or WiFi), you can access files on other networked PC's, send docs to a networked printer, etc. But you can not hve the Axim show up as an available network resource viewable from other PC's on the lan. In other words, the Axim can see them, but they can't see the Axim.
