USB Question

Hello,

My PC has two USB slots but they are not USB 2.0 (I have a Dell Dimension L667r that I purchased in 2000). I think I recall hearing that USB 2.0 listed devices will still work, but may not transfer data as fast. Does anyone think I will have a problem connecting my Axim, that arrives in mid-August, to my PC? If so, any suggestions for working it out? Santa-wife said a new PC is not an option at this point in time! Thanks for any help/advice.

if i didn't know better i'd say the sync cable is only USB 1.1.....anyway it definitely works fine on my 1.1 ports. you wont have any problems.

USB 2.0 will only benefit you if 1) your device specifically states that it uses USB 2.0 or 2) you have MANY USB devices.

2.0 is fully compatible with 1.0 and 1.0 with 2.0 just 1.0 will run at 11mbps as opposed to 2.0 at 450mbps or something like that.

If you have many USB devices and they are all active at the same time, for example USB Mouse + KB, axim cradle, digital camera, USB sound card, USB Tv Tuner card and these are all on one USB hub/controller then you get 11mbps being shared between alot of devices and you get some really bad speeds.
