Okay, I just received an AXIM as a gift. I have been playing with it all day and I do not think I would actually spend money on one. First off, you MUST go through Outlook if you want to do ANYTHING between your computer and the AXIM. Before you can download Active Sync (the program that links your computer and the AXIM) you have to download Microsoft Outlook 2002. I personally do not want to use Outlook as a calendar. I currently own a Sony Clie. It has it's own desktop that I can type into and then sync it to my palm. The only thing that the Dell has that I would like compared to the Sony, is the voice recording. Also, I was trying to call Dell support because I was trying to find out if there was anything I can use besides Outlook, and when I called the support line, you have to give them a credit card number and pay for a support package before they will help you on the phone. If you don't want to pay to receive support, then you have to hope it's on Dell's website. I thought I would call the Sales & Service department to see if they would sell me something to use to replace Outlook, and he basically told me no. When I suggested returning it, he then directed me to this site to see if I could find a download from another user. I guess I am just very disappointed. I opened the box yesterday, and was EXTREMELY excited because this thing looks amazing! It does have some neat features but I think my fiancé said it correctly when he said to not judge this book by its cover. I don't know, maybe someone can lead me to something other that Outlook and I could work with it, but paying for support??????? I think that is a little ridiculous.
