Active sync worked with Win 98 without problem. Just updated desktop box with XP, USB 2.0 card, 120 gig HD and some other hardware bits.

Now activesync makes connection, but continuously drops then reconnects. Ax is connected directly to USB card port. No hub for my Ax. :love:

Is there a fix?

my suggestions

1) get new drivers for the USB card if avaliable

2) Plug the axim into a USB port on your motherboard. Most motherboards have 2 USB connectors beside the PS/2 connectors.
