After you sync, choose the Explore button in Active Sync and copy and paste onto the Axim. However, I am not sure if Windows Media Player will play MP3s.

Windows Media Player does play mp3's but I also strongly recommend the use of wma's, they have good sound quality for about half the size of a similar sounding mp3.

Windows Media player will play MP3's! The only limitation is that it does not encode (rip) them with a 3rd party add-in.

I use Windows Media player to transfer songs to my Axim. Go to the copy to device tab on Windows Media player on your desktop and you should see the SD card on the Axim and be able to copy directly to it.

Someone Else's advice to use WMA's is excellent. I let Windows Media player convert the files from MP3's into WMA's (at a lower bitrate to make them smaller) and copy them to my Axim all in one easy step.
