Question Can't install programs

Had my axim for a week or so. I had installed programs but due to a WMP problem I had to do a hard reset of the Axim. Well now I can't install programs on my axim I make sure the axim is connected and then when I run the exe file on my PC i see the add/remove window for a split second and disappear. This is not like before where it would ask me if I wanted any program installed in its default directory. When I check the Axim to see if anything was install, of course nothing is. What can be wrong?

Im ready to uninstall the Microsoft ActiveSynch and do a hard reset on my Axim and reinstall everything.

Maybe this is a dumb question but have you tried to reset the PC? Remove and recreate the partnership?

ya before a hard reset exhaust all options. you will lose all of your data otherwise.

Nope not dumb at all, but yup rebooted countless times. Made sure all temp files were deleted. Made sure Axim wasnt connected when rebooting, etc ,etc. Also did the deleted partnership and made new ones. But still same thing happens the install windows flashes so quickly I cant even get a screen capture.

I would recommend trying to uninstall Active Sync and then reinstalling.

YES!!! Don't it feel great. Next time just throw it on the ground and step on it. that usually works for me!

Or you can do what I did once with my old Palm III forget it was on the roof of car drive away. Remember 10 miles later trace back, and figure it fell off in front of driveway where it was nicely crushed.

I'm glad it worked for you.

Ah well, at least it died quickly instead of dying slowly from neglect. :D

Yeah, well the reason I'm planning on replacing my Palm IIIx with an axim is that my palm's alarm doesn't work. I did the soft reboot fix and it worked for a while but it's back to its old tricks again... It's no good to me if I can't count on it, so out the door it goes! In comes the nice shiny axim!
