Having a problem with the Contacts app. I click on "Categories" so I can, for example, just view my business contacts. However, when I click on "Categories," it changes to "Show" (with the little downward pointing arrow next to it) but there is no drop down menu that shows all of my Categories. Nothing happens -- Categories changes to Show and that's it. Even if I keep on clicking on Show, it does not change back to Categories. Tried a soft reset and it did nothing (all it did was change Show back to Categories).

Anyone else ever experience this and/or know how to fix it?

Thanks

Anthony

May be this help. I am using MS Outlook (not Outlook Express). Now the Contact category names in your Pocket PC Outlook application should be the same as the Desktop PC MS Outlook contact category names.
Secondly make sure that all the contacts are assign a category name. Thirdly, click on the Active Syn icon on your desktop (do not start syn now) and open the Active Syn window. Scroll down to where it says "Contacts" and right click on it and select "Settings". Now in "Settings" there are two boxes, first box has 2 options, on top of it, make sure that they are not checked. The second box should list all the categories that you have created and it has only one option " Synchronize only those contacts in the following selected categories", make sure to check this option and also make sure that there is a check mark next to all categories in the box.

Hope this will help you.

I found this on the Dell forum using "contact categories" it listed the same thing you ran into and that I noticed mine is doing last night.

Dell Forum thread

"Kenbuzz replied with the following

Heh. I just figured out the sure-fire way to have a problem fix itself.... post a stupid message to a public board. :D

As it turns out, the Contacts Category db was corrupted. All of the backups (including Dell's) faithfully reconstituted the corrupted db. The way to fix was Hard Reset, restore everything EXCEPT the Contacts db, and use ActiveSync to sync my Contacts from the desktop to the Axim."

I am going to do the hard reset myself tomorrow and try this out.
I spent some time gathering all of my access codes for the programs that I have purchased so that I can reload them again.
I am using a Axim X5 400mhz with the A03 update.
