I want to be able to use my Axim to surf the net from another part of the house. I would like to use a CF card (since I have an SD card for storage). I have heard of Bluetooth which seems to be for short distances, and WiFi for longer distances. Are there other wireless technologies I should consider? What exact cards do I need for the PC, and the PPC? Is there a device that would go into the USB port on the PC for transmission to the card in the PPC? Is this stuff expensive? Does it work well? Oh so many questions. Such fun!!

Hi there, you'd need a few things, most everyone is going to tell you that you need a Wireless Access point and a Wireless CF card, 802.11 and not Bluetooth. You are also going to need to have either broadband (cable modem/dsl) already installed or some sort of wired network to give you internet access. If you have a dialup service you'll need a Network Card for your PC and any of the following HUB/ROUTER/SWITCH to connect to the access point in order to get online. Some information on the WiFi or 802.11b cards, they are generally good for about 300 feet in your house at the full 11Mbps speed they run at, they scale down as the distance increases ie 500 feet 5Mbps, 1000 feet 1Mbps, in open areas they can run into the 1000's of feet at 11Mbps. There are a lot of options for getting you configured or setup so i'd suggest figuring out what your budget is and going to various sites and checking the sunday paper for products, hope I helped! :D

John that's a great help. I am starting to get the picture. I found the Dell TrueMobile CF card (1180) for $99, the TrueMobile router (1184) for $129, and the TrueMobile wireless USB adapter for $69. All are 802.11b compliant. I am not stuck on Dell, but am just trying to understand the how this stuff works.
