I finally received my Axim, installed my screen protector (with the help of this forum--thanks!) and just tried to move my data from the Palm Desktop to Outlook by using PocketMirror, which is contained on the CD that came with my Handspring Visor. I followed the instructions in prior posts about how to do this. It didn't work! I got the following (lengthy) error message, which is the same message I received when I tried a different approach and attempted to reload my Palm software, but choose Outlook at the default, instead of Palm. Here's the message:

It looks like a file called PSTPRX.DLL was not installed. Do a search for that name on your PC. If you cannot find it on your PC, then PocketMirror did not install properly. If you did find it, then I'm stumped and someone else may have to help

The steps ought to be something like this:

1. Install Pocket Mirror.
2. Sync Palm to Outlook using HotSync.
3. Sync Axim to Outlook using Activesync.

I think there are some configuration steps in there to map fields from the Palm to the Outlook fields, but I don't have a Palm so I can't be sure. I just remember somebody mentioning it somewhere.

OK, I searched my system and do NOT have that file on there. Is that the problem?

I'm running an old version of the Palm software (and hence, an old version of PocketMirror). It's v. 3.0.1. I'm wondering if that's causing a problem, since I considered synching the systems using Yahoo Calendar, but Yahoo says you need v. 4 of the Palm software for synch to work correctly.

By the way, I'm running Outlook 2000, which came loaded on my system, which runs Windows 98SE. I have a minimal amount of info loaded in the contacts section of Outlook and I instructed PocketMirror to overwrite that with my handheld data when synching.

Help! I really don't want to spend the weekend manually copying everything from Palm to Outlook--plus I'm afraid I'll miss something in my calendar. :(
