Problems with Socket WiFi Card

I've tried posting this question on other Forum sites but I'm not getting much of a response. Being a newbie I have no clue as to why my Socket wireless card suddenly stopped working in my Axim. The Axim is coming up with an "Unrecognized Card" message box. The box tells me I have to enter some information off of the manufacter's driver. I've tried reinstalling the driver and the card still does not respond. What I'm wondering is: is it the card or the Axim that's causing the problem? In all other aspects my Axim is functioning normally. The Socket card was also working fine up until two days ago. Right after I took it on a trip and ran it through the X-ray machine (twice) at the airport. Could that have something to do with this problem? I guess I'm just in need of some good advice as to what I should do now.

Not sure I can help you as I've posted the same problem but only using my Netgear card with the Intersil drivers...For a couple of days it worked swell then just went out for no reason...

I don't think the xray will do anything bad...do a search for xray in the forums here...Lots of people have said that xrays won't affect anything...

Question...After you put in the driver name does the light on the card come on but only won't be recognized by the program? That's what mine does and I'm wondering could it be an Ax problem...

I had the same problem with my Symbol card (same as the Socket), with the latest Socket driver. I removed and re-inserted the card and the problem went away. It hasn't happened again since then.

Are you guys both on WM2003 ? (Mine's an Axim Advanced running WM2003)

The only things I can think of that happened leading up to this were:

-Tried various war-driving apps and removed them (none worked).

-Connected to other discovered networks when off-site, then came back to base where my 'preferred' network is.

I'm using 2003...and updated to ROM version AO5...It's an enigma why this should happen. I very much avoiding a hard reset but will do so if I have to...

The green light on my Socket card stopped coming on and that's when the card became unrecognizable. I tried pulling it out and reinstalling it (several times) but that hasn't worked either. I'm thinking it's a problem with the card but I've heard so many great things about Socket that I wonder if it may be the Axim.

This happened to me a few days ago with a Dlink card but a soft reset seemed to solve the problem - it's now working fine.
