Audio Playback has weird noise like snaps

Hi,

When I am watching a movie or listening to an mp3 file, at certain level, not the top but just below it (on the main volume control) i get this "noise" in regular intervals, like someone is whipping something, kind of "chit,chit,chit,chit,chit,chit,chit..." Maybe about 5 to 6 times per second, just a little lower-volumed than the music/video itself. When I adjust the volume with the main volume slider, it goes away, back to same volume level, it is back. I tried various players, but it seems, it is the master volume, not player specific, also, I tried closing some of the running applications, it didn't help much.

Any similar experiences? It is not constant, however not file/format specific either.. :rolling: If I adjust the volume to a bit higher or lower, it is OK, but it is bothering me, being that I just got my Axim 400Mhz last week.

This problems makes me think my Axim won't replace my standalone mp3 player, and I don't want that.

Hey funks..

..just realized it, after I posted the msg and hopped on the bus. It does go away not after pausing the clip but after tapping once on my ICBar volume to MUTE the ax, and tap second time to unmute it.

It still bothers me though.. What could cause that? I don't wanna keep muting and unmuting for it go away..

Not sure myself, but it happens on my Axim regardless of the media player I am using.

I think WM2003 on the Axim has a number of sound issues. Hopefully they can be resolved in a future ROM version.

Yup...I have MSM2003 AO5 and I get the crackle as well, but only a thte one (second highest) volume level. It goes away, as prescribed above, but it does kinda suck. Presumably as we all have the EXACT same problem it's an issue that will be resolved in the next ROM patch.

Next rom patch, you mean one of those A0x's right?

That's too bad, a simple thing like that needs a whole rom update to be resolved. It doesn't kinda suck, it sucks big time. Fortunetaly, If i fix the master at 3 below top, not 2, and use the side buttons with WMP, it works fine, i won't get the highest volume, but in any case..

Also all other applications (sound and video players), it gives a brief mute, a split second, when trying to adjust the volume, doesn't matter from where, master or custom volume, it just mutes while it switches from one level to another.. that is much more serious than the regular crackling.. :(
