Screen brightness steps to minimum

When I insert e.g. wifi card or after I remove the CF card sometimes the screen brightness is reset to minimum. I've to readjust the brightness through the applicable program.

Why does this happen?

Screen Brightness

Beats me it happens a lot to me when I go to shutdown and for some reason goes into "sleep" or "standby" mode instead of turning off. I then have to squint like mad and go into settings and reset the brightness level. What is up with this?

srf506,

Your problem is probably that you are holding down the power button too long (more than a brief depression just dims the backlight).

pjotr,
I have no idea what is causing your problem. Sorry.
