yes i need to read the FAQ but is there any way to charge my battery using the sync cable that goes to the USB?

That depends on ...... well, everything. If you are talking about a Dell x50 or x51 then the answer is probably yes. If your USB port puts out enough current to charge it and you keep the unit turned off it will charge the battery. It will not work with the pda turned on though. You can usually tell by whether or not the light comes on, it will be an orange lite in the power button. However there have been a couple of people reporting that when the battery was very low it would not charge it up using the USB port at all. good luck and welcome to Aximsite!
