Looking for a good case

I am lloking for a good case to hold my Axim. I would like a belt loop as opposed to a clip and also one that has the slots cut out for the CF WI-FI card sticking out.

Any recommendations?

Thanks

John

The only case I know of with a belt loop is the Nutshell holster for Axim X5. It does not, however, have a cutout for the CF slot. Click Here For Link. Notice the option for "Belt Loop Holster" on the left.

Well I have looked high and low and still have not found the case I want yet. I really want a belt loop or a really strong clip. I have had a few clips break in the past while working in the test lab and I have had a couple belt clips slip off also. Also I would like to keep my CF WI-FI card in the Axim. A friend of mine actually took his Dell case somewhere and had a belt loop sewn on to the back. Might be worth doing that for now.

Have not seen exactly what you want.

You may have to use something like a Grindergear. Also several people make "holsters" with belt loops that might work for you. With all of these you take the Axim out of the case or holster to use it, leaving the case on your belt.

I got a Sena case recently, and have been very happy with it. It does not have a belt loop, it uses an UltraClip from The Clip Company. It's a very strong clip, locks the device in very well. I haven't had a single problem with it slipping, coming loose or sliding off yet.

The case itself is a snap closure flip cover with cutouts for access to all the buttons and cards (even the reset button has a cutout). I'm very satisfied with this case so far. It might be worth your time to take a look at the website.

I don't see any openeing for the CF WI-FI card. Would be a pain to have to take it in and out. I am beginning to think that a poucj type case would be better. Just slip the Axim in and out when I want to use it.

I think Piel Frama is the only leather slipcase that comes standard with the CF cutout. The Vaja is available with the opening by custom ordering it. Of course you could always cut your own opening.

The pouch cases don't seem to be that popular here but they make sense to me, depending on how you carry your Axim. So far I have carried mine mostly in a soft briefcase or on trips in my large camera bag. For this use a leather slipper case works fine, as would the aluminum clamshells.

Have you tried Covertec they do a leather case with a belt clip also expansys do various cases. Haven't tried either myself but they are worth a try.
