I had my x51v stolen and am looking to replace it. I was wondering what the differences were between the x51v and the x50v. If I were to find an x50v for cheaper, is it worth it?

The big differences are:

50v has Windows Mobile 2003 Second Edition
51v has Windows Mobile 5.0

50v has 128MB ROM
51v has 256MB ROM

My vote would be to go with the x51v, but the x50v's are cheaper.

whilst the X50 series can be upgraded to wm5, because they have a different type of memory in them they don't run wm5 as well as the X51 series.

Had a X51v for about a year - it got lost.
Was replaced with a used X50v for about half year ago - and is still on duty.

Haven't regretted :)

I have both, I find the X50v more reliable, its running WM2003, its probably because I have alot of programs installed and the X51v does not like some of them especially those installed on the today screen.
When I want reliability I take the X50v with me, its never let me down.
Of course if your battery goes completely dead you are in trouble, but I carry extra batteries and make backups on my SD cards so I don't lose anything,
