I received my X3i today!!!
It is currently charging on the cradle, i can hardly wait for the 4 hours to pass!
Can i charge the X3i every night? Would it effect the memory of the battery or anything? How long can i keep it on the cradle. I have a tendency to leave it on through the night.
Thanks for the tutorials, Gigi! I printed them using the copy and paste method onto Word. Oh, boy! i want to start playing with it!

Lithium ion batteries don't have a memory effect so you can leave it charged overnight. (They won't overcharge because they have a built-in mechanism which prevents this.) In fact, these batteries do better when they are not deeply discharged so leave it on the charger when you're not using it. Have fun!

HELP! My X3i is frozen on my Calendar screen!!!!:crooked:
The other screens are working well otherwise.
But, i can't get exit the screen AT ALL.
It doesn't respond to my taps!!!
I shut it off and turn it on and the calendar is still on the same screen iwas stuck on (April 22nd!)
I am so frantic right now! Does this require a RESET? (OH, NO!)
I'll just play solitaire in the meantime.:crooked:

Did you try a SOFT reset? (Don't worry, this won't erase your Axim's memory.) Just use your stylus and push it into the little indentation on the back and see if that helps.
Glad it helped. A soft reset is really like CTRL-ALT-DEL or a reboot on a desktop PC. If you get stuck, try that first and most of the time your problem will be solved. :)
Also, note that shutting off your Axim does not really remove all power to it like it would on your desktop PC. That is why you saw the same screen when you turned it back on. Your Axim is always "on" in some state or another. A hard reset is the only time it is "off" and in that case, all your memory is lost and it goes back to the state it was in when you first got it.
I will attmept some video transfers onto my Axim when i get home.
I'm glad i have your tutorials nearby! but, do you have
any pointers or tips for videos?
If you are planning to transfer your videos when connected to ActiveSync, be prepared for failed connections if your files are long. ActiveSync does not do well with large files. If you this is your only option, make sure you have the latest version of ActiveSync 3.7.1. Also, transferring by ActiveSync is very slow (but faster if you use wifi). The best way to transfer large files is by using a card reader.

or a multi-flash memory reader pci card. that way you'll still have an available Sony Memory Stick slot (which might be handy since you also use Clie) and much more.

Do you mean tranfering files directly into the SD card and just popping the card into the Axim? :crooked:
Gee, that seems easy enough, if that's what you meant.
Yes that's exactlly what I meant! No need to go through ActiveSync for that.
Card readers don't have capacities like that...only the cards themselves.... If you want to know what size card to get, I'd get AT LEAST 128, preferably 256 or more...or at least several 128s. You will find that with mp3s and videos, they will fill up quickly!
I would get a card reader that reads many formats (e.g., CompactFlash, SD, etc.) for more flexibility if the price is right.
hi there all, just got my axim x5 still waiting for the tom tom nav kit though. question is- I've got a multi card reader, but when I put my CF card in, all the removable drives disappear from my computer, card fault or reader???
