When you say all removable drives disappear from this computer, which ones are you referring to? From other memory cards in your card reader? Have you tried different cards on this reader? Or do you have a different reader to try with this card?

BTW, Welcome to Aximsite!!! :D

That's really bizarre...any chance you could try the card reader on a different PC? Also, what brand CF card do you have? If you could, I would also try different cards on the reader.

In the future, you could check the Control Panel for notification of any replies you get in forum threads. You can also specify to have email notification as well.

Are you running Windows XP on your Desktop ? If so, it will almost certainly have drivers for your card reader and you should not install any others.

For earlier versions of Windows ,you should install the drivers from the CD that should have come with the Card Reader.

Place your cursor at the top of the page where it says Forums. You will see a drop down menu and one of the choices will be Control Panel. Click on that to find out what threads you have subscribed to.

Folders with the extension *.arm

*******NEWBIE ALERT******** Code Red
I downloaded a PPC program which turned out to be a folder named *.arm. It's not a .cab or .zip, so what has to happen to get this program installed??

Your Help would be deeply appreciated.....

Open up that ARM folder and inside should be a .cab file to copy to your Axim.

BTW, Welcome to Aximsite!!!:D

*******Newbie Alert******* Downgraded to Code Orange

The problem was WinRAR and partially my inability to follow instructions. The downloaded file on my PC appeared as if it was a *.rar file in which it was actually a *.cab file (the unzipped folder I originally spoke of in the previous post was the unpacked program). I copied the *.cab file to my Axim X5 as demonstrated in the tutorial and BAM, program installed...

Thanks Gigi, your help and dedication is appreciated

Great article! Saving it now, thanks. The only problem is I tried your link to the remover program and got a error message from the site it is on. They must have moved the file or something.

I just tried the link and it seems fine. Is it this one? Alternatively, you can go right to the developer's website here. Unfortunately, Remover will soon be going shareware (if it hasn't already) to be replaced by something called SK Tools. You could also try Pocket Mechanic, which although not freeware, is highly rated and more featured than Remover.

I have to say that I'll be referring to that tutorial many times once I get my X30.
