WMP9 series in X5
Gigi, great article on software installation! I printed it (no problem - it's a matter of printer settings) and keep it with my DELL AXIM book (Rich Hall).
Question: I ripped many of my CDs in WMP11 and copied the music files to a 16GB CF-card, which I use in my X5 (without any problems - the SDcard has size-restrictions, but the CFcard apparently not). However, when accessing the music in WMP9 on the X5, the songs or arias (opera fan!) appear with the highest number first. It's not a big problem, since I now start at the bottom and I know I can move songs up and down, but I wonder why.

Thanks for checking into this.

Sorry Dutchie, I never use WMP, just had a look at it and I can`t see how to change the sort order.
There are a variety of better players out there, some you have to pay for some are free, I and many others here use TCPMP player.
It's free and very versitile.

WMP series 9
Thanks Box. Only way I could get to play files on the CF-card was to insert the card in a card reader. That way WMP11 synced the files to the card with codecs and I could play them through the WMP9 player on the X5. If you just copy the files from the computer to the card it does not work.
I'll look at the TCPMP-player. Thanks!
By the way: apart from not being able to sort the songs, the sound is fantastic! (mind you: I talk about opera and classical). I play them in WMA-format (for me warmer than MP3) with 320kbps.
I still love my X5. I looked at a lot of other PDAs, but every time I wonder why would I change? Only thing it does not have is a VGA-screen, but if you don't play videos you don't miss it. My WiFi-card works very well and my 16GB CF-card is completely full. The X5 sofar has not been beaten!

TCPMP player
Box, checked out the TCPMP player, however, it is mentioned that TCPMP 0.72RC1 download is discontinued. I was referred to the Corecodec Coreplayer. Is this what you mean? If it is, I suppose it works on the X5 with its operating system? Since they mention Windows 5 and 6.

Core Player is the commercial version of TCPMP and is better in some respects but worse in other, or so I hear, I've never tried it myself.
You can find TCPMP in the download section of this site and Unit Zero has put together a package of all known codecs for it.
Look here.

You may be better off using WMP if you really like WMA, I'm not sure if the codec for wma will work with the X5, it does for WM5 and 6.

Have a look, give it a try and see if you like it, most people do because it works with a huge variety of file types.

need help with pocket word
Hello and thanks in advance. I recently had to hard reset my axim x51v. I have been able to reload my software, including my contacts, from my windows xp laptop. I can't find my pocket word files, though. I assume that if my contacts were still on the laptop, the word files would be there too. Any help would be appreciated.

You have to provide a bit more info. For example, device, operating system, etc. Also, did you install both the reader software AND the Bible?
