SDHC Patch for WM2003

I'm guess that there isn't a patch for the old Windows Mobile 2003 then?

The sdhc patch for wm5 will install onto 2003, and doesnt work for sdhc cards. In fact, it ruins regular sd too, until u uninstall.

If your on 2003 you can go up to 4gb sd. Watch out though, b/c most 4gb are sdhc. Few places sell regular 4gb. Newegg is probably the best place to get regular 4gb sd. Here is one for $18.25 plus $5 shipping. This is also a brand i recommend.

no, at this moment it is impossible to use sdhc in the sd slot on 2003.

Athough there are cf to sd adapters that support sdhc, and may possiby work on 2003, you are out of luck if u have no cf slot.

X30 series doesn't >_> SO I'm guess I have to buy something else just to be able to use bigger SD Cards. Lame.

SDHC on AXIM x50

Well, I believe we won't have any luck finding the patches nor drives for our X50
but the solution to our misery will be SD/SDHC to CF adapeter which I read in some other forum it was okay and can get 16Gb.

I did not test yet.
Any thought?

Well us x50 users and anybody with a cf slot can get up to a 32gb card that works straight out of the box even on 2003se.

As far as the driver, it must utilize something in wm5, so it doesnt work on 2003se. I tried it myself.

Big Smile

Yeah,

I don't think that a developer would take time to have a driver for wm2003.
well, I now need to buy the CF adapter plus the 16GB SDHC so I could use GPS apps with big maps.

You have an x50, why not just get a 16gb cf card for $60:
Newegg.com - A-DATA 16GB Compact Flash (CF) Flash Card Model SPEEDY CF 16GB - Flash Memory

Their just as good as sd cards, and they work out of the box, no need for drivers/tweaking like you would with the sdhc adapter.

I was answering "U2bob"s question only. Hence the "quote" box. Under "U2bob"s profile it says that he has an x50.

I wasnt answering the question for everybody in the world with 2003se, only this one person who happened to HAVE a device with a cf slot.

Hi Spunker88,

Thank you for your idea.
My concern was to unify all my SD's/ SDHC cards and with the price dropping on the memory cards, SD or SDHC should be the best investment for the buck, don't you think so?
I am trying to find a SDHC to CF adapter but since I don't like e-bay, I can not find it anywhere in store.
I guess I'll need to ask one of my friend to buy it from e-bay for me....

If you have an x50v, you can upgrade to wm5 to use the patch for limited sdhc ability.

Or, you can upgrade to the unofficial wm6 rom and have full sdhc ability.

How about Memory Stick Micro to SD adapters, will it work?

Memory stick capacities are improving as well.

Will 4Gb and up work on a Dell Axim X50V using WM2003 using this setup?

I've got quite a few bits and pieces which take SD cards so was trying to find a 4Gb SD card to load my iTunes library onto my Axim. I got fooled by an advert that showed a 4Gb non-SD card in the picture, ordered it and a U-Tek 4Gb SDHC card arrived. Without even opening the pack, I argued with the supplier, who wouldn't give me my money back, and after wasting hours on the subject I put the pack away, assuming I'd lost my money for something I couldn't use. Well ... about a month ago I got a new computer, Dell D430 which has an SD slot in the side so thought it might actually work on that. Not only does it work on the D430, it also works on my Axim. Shows the full 4Gb (3800 Mb actually), has loaded all my iPod library (3.5 Gb) and so far I haven't found a track that won't play. Any ideas on this, anyone? Not that I am going to question my good fortune. Sorry forgot to mention, I have an Axim X50v running good old WM2003SE.
