Hi, I'm new here.
I have had my X50 for 3 yrs now. Now, while being charged, the power light blinks on and off from green to orange. Is this a problem? Since this started, I had to replace the battery because it would not hold charge. Also, on the calendar, the date now blinks red. It may have done this before, but I have never noticed it until the power button blink started.
Thanks,
Missy
Thanks for your response. I use it for appointments all the time, but none are due. I left it on the charger for the past 6 hours, only an 88% charge. I used the wall charger. BTW, no difference if I use the USB port to charge.
6 hrs=88% not right that's a problem!
Something is amiss either with the battery or the charge system.
Seeing you have same result with both wall and cradle charge
I would suspect battery end, clean contacts and go from there.
I have 2 2200mah and original 1100mah battery all charge from 70%
to 100% in 15-20 minutes.
Check to see if there are multiple programs running?
I always close all programs. Just a habit from old days. FYI, with the new battery, 2 days old, the charge went from 100% to 29% in 15 minutes with only the power screen up. It recharges in 3 minutes. I remove the battery and used a pencil eraser to clean the contacts. No change. While charging, the power light still cycles from green to orange. It's a mystery. BTY, I did a soft reset...3 different times, no change. All works well while plugged into the wall. (but that defeats the purpose doesn't it? :-). Thanks for your input.
100% to 29% in 15 minutes tells me that something is running with
a big draw on battery.
WIFI will cause the heavy draw but I run mine for 20-30 min and don't see
that drop,I hesitate to suggest a hard reset to go back to factory
specs as you will udoubtedly have to rebuild a bit.
I had a program that ran submerged in the system that I really liked
"Todays Warrior" trouble was even though it didn't show as active
it was and current draw was cut run time down-got rid of it!
Keep your screen brightness as low as possible and turn on all
the settings that are designed to save power.
Thanks for your responses. I checked for Bluetooth, not on. WiFi, not on. I turned down the screen, perfomed a hard reset; no change. After charging for two hours, the power light still blinks green to orange. When unplugged, the power shows 100% for a short period of time, then starts dropping rapidly. Overnight, not on, it will drop to 25%...but not completely dead.
