PC software restore

I have been using Search for about two hours and I cannot find an answer for my problem.
I had my X51 synced with a Win 2000 desktop, and recently upgraded to XP sp2. My X51 is working fine but I am unsure as to how to reload the software on to the desktop.
Do I wipe the X51 and re-install everything from scratch or is there a way to use SPB backup to restore the software from the PDA to the Desktop?
If this has been answered before perhaps a link will do .
I have Activ sync running and Outlook works fine . I am referring to ; Calligrapher ,SPB, SK tools ,Phatpadtotal commander and Wifi Companion

Thanx

Is there a reason you need to reload all your software onto your desktop? Is it something that syncs with your device? If it has no current function on your desktop, I don't see the need to reinstall it again until you need it. That's what I do when I reformat.

Now if you are talking about Outlook data, that's different. If your X51 is up to date, you can just sync everything back to your desktop Outlook. A backup of Outlook (import to PST file) before the upgrade would also have been a good idea.

I'm not sure if I have answered your question, but hope that helps.

You're very welcome!

I would just reinstall the ones you need to sync with.

O.K. I think I was more concerned if any re-installs would cause trouble when I sync with an already loaded PDA.
I am going to go ahead.
