I have read some things recently that said only certain cards will work with x51v, such as SD cards must be 2gb or smaller and CF cards must not be larger than 4 GB. is this correct? I was under the impression that you could go as big as you could afford.

not sure about sd but right now, im using an 8GB cf Card with no problems.

There is a whole thread about what cards will work in the storage card forum.
Normal 4gb SD cards will work but SDHC cards do not work, although there is a driver now that fixes that.
CF cards can pretty much be as large as you can afford. But check the compatibility thread for more information.
I use 4gb SD and 8gb CF in my 51V with no issues.

Can anyone tell me where to fiind the driver mentioned above so my x51v will recognize the 4GB SD HC card??

(My computer and camera both work with it, but not the Axim. I also have two card readers, and only one of them recognizes it.)

Thank you. Can you tell me where the cab file should be placed? And how to get it into the proper folder via activesync?

You can place the cab file in any folder on the Axim, say my documents
If you connect your device, double click on my computer then on pda icon and you can find my documents. Just drag it into my documents on the pda

Then using file explorer on the pda tap on the cab file and it will run and install the program

i have axim X51v and 4gb hc ---- i installed cab file .... and still nothing ... shit happens ... hehehhe .. (sory on my words .. but i am so angry ....grrr )

If you are using the Dell AO12 Windows Mobile 5 Rom, and you have issues with card size, then you might be using below par cards. My x51v has an 8gb CF card and a standard 4gb SD card without a problem. Let us know your ROM version it will help
